What is EOTAS?
EOTAS stands for Education Otherwise Than At School. It is education arranged for a young person outside a school, as a package built around their EHCP.
We build bespoke EOTAS packages around a young person's EHCP and coordinate them with the local authority. Each package is built around the EHCP's outcomes, with the evidence and reviews you need for statutory duties.
Parents and carers: placements are usually arranged through your child's school or local authority. If you think EOTAS could be right for your child, talk to us and we will help you understand the route. Our guide for parents and carers explains what to expect.

How to commission a placement
Talk to us about a young person, a framework or spot-purchased provision. A referral enquiry does not confirm a place: we discuss suitability and the next step with you.
- 1
Tell us about the young person
Use the referral form or email hello@carecove.co.uk about an individual placement, a framework or spot-purchased provision. We aim to respond within one working day.
- 2
Share information securely
We gather educational history, SEND and EHCP information, safeguarding and risk information and current attendance through a secure route.
- 3
Agree the package and outcomes
We agree a personalised package, timetable and outcomes with everyone involved, with clear costings for the agreed package upfront.
- 4
Start, review and report
The young person starts with a named key worker. Regular reviews and reporting on attendance, engagement, progress and risk keep the plan responsive and feed EHCP annual reviews where relevant.
